Through all our business divisions that include our Supercare, Food and Facilities businesses, Occupational Health, and Safety as well as Food Safety are paramount to all our service offerings across our business.
To meet our commitment to food safety, we have developed a Food Safety Management System, that is implemented across all operational sites.
Our Food Safety Management System (FSMS) is based on the principles of HACCP and is aligned with the requirements of ISO 22000. HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) is a management system in which food safety is addressed through the identification of hazards (physical, chemical, and microbiological) from receiving of ingredients, production and serving, through to consumption of the finished product.
Operational controls are then implemented at the critical points (CCP’s) to mitigate or reduce the hazards identified. In addition to this, our Prerequisite Programmes (PRP’s)are designed to address the standards of the production environment and include pest control, housekeeping, cleaning and sanitation, preventative maintenance, personnel hygiene, to name but a few.
Our commitment to safety starts with the creation of an enabling environment, where we empower our employees, consult with our clients, and look to our management teams to lead from the front.
Aside from complying with the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Empact Health and Safety Policy is based on 4 principals / pillars:
